How often do people try to sell us something before we have
expressed an interest, have a desire, or are in the market for what
they have? It seems the standard for many salespeople is to try to
sell to anyone and everyone regardless of the interest level.

When I consult with small and home based business owners, more
times than not one of the greatest concerns they have is how to
increase reach to a targeted market while keeping costs down. Hands
down, effectively using the power of the Internet is the
cornerstone to achieving this outcome. More times than not,
companies are not using their Internet presence as effectively as
they can.
-
Why is it some people are incredibly successful at utilizing the
power of the Internet in their marketing while others can't seem to
figure out the winning formula?
-
Recently I received an email message that went something like
this, "I want to do exactly what you are doing in my business."
Come to find out what this person wanted to "do" was make lots of
money using the Internet without having to work at it.

Many small and home based businesses know they need to market
and yet, have little or no money to do so. Sadly, many use this as
a reason not to market. Even on a limited budget you can promote
and gain visibility for you and your business.
-
In years past it was easier to get your foot in the door of a
prospective client than it is today. Competition has increased,
your prospect has more demands on their time and a simple visit to
the Internet can offer many prospects the same choice you are
offering for less money.

Recently, I spent an afternoon with some friends at a go-cart
track. We had the time of our life each pretending to be world
class race car drivers. Although we were older than most of the
people there we felt young and alive. We committed to doing this
again and soon!

For one who takes pride in being involved with different
community organizations, possessing a high level of confidence is
essential. Especially when that involvement includes speaking to
large and small groups requesting donations for numerous non-profit
organizations.

Marketing a business can be fun, exciting and creative. It can
also be very frustrating and expensive if one doesn’t know what
outcome they are looking for or how to evaluate cost effective
methods of marketing.
-
Most companies are constantly seeking efficient and cost
effective marketing and promotions strategies. It’s likely they are
also seeking strategies to increase sales through obtaining key
information. Regardless of the industry, almost everyone has heard
or read arguments saying sales and marketing are separate, while at
other times hearing and reading they are interconnected.
